Let It Be Easy

We are so used to working hard to make things happen that we tend to apply the 'work hard' method to everything we do.

However, meditation asks the opposite from us.

Imagine that you are going for a car ride out on the open road. Wind in your hair, your favorite tunes on the stereo.

But, you are not driving the car. You are in the backseat, enjoying the view, without a worry on your mind. You are  'along for the ride'.

This is a great analogy for your meditation practice. You can let your body be the driver of your vehicle. You can enjoy the sensations of breathing and trust the innate intelligence of your body to direct your experience. You can relax into "being breathed" and just enjoy the ride.

Let your body be your guide so that you can take the work out of meditation. Let it be easy.

“Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belongs to you.”
~ Lao Tzu

Happy meditating!

with kindness, Heather
